Superwash Bluefaced/Corriedale Sock is a soft but hardworking 4-ply yarn with a nice balance of warmth and durability. It’s spun from 75% British Superwash Bluefaced Leicester and South American Superwash Corriedale, with 25% recycled nylon for strength—plus it’s 100% mulesing free.
It’s the kind of yarn that feels great in your hands and holds up beautifully once it’s knit. Bluefaced Leicester brings that smooth, slightly silky feel and a gentle sheen, while Corriedale adds bounce, structure, and a bit of crimp. The result is a yarn that’s comfortable, sturdy, and really reliable—perfect for socks and anything else that needs a little extra wear.
About the recycled nylon
The nylon in this blend is made from recycled materials like fabric scraps and discarded fishing nets. It adds the durability you want for long-lasting knits, while helping cut down on waste and energy use. Same performance, just a little easier on the planet.

Purling Pigeon is our in-house hand-dyed yarn line, created by owner and artist Jasmine Clayton. We dye it, we knit with it, and we’re a little picky about what makes a good skein—so we stick to really beautiful bases and high-quality dyes that feel great to work with and hold up in real projects.
We work hard to keep our dye lots consistent and put a lot of care into every batch. That said, hand-dyed yarn can be a little unpredictable, and you might notice slight shifts in color from one batch to the next. It’s just part of the process—and part of what makes each skein feel special.
