Superwash Bluefaced/Corriedale DK is one of those yarns that just feels good all around—soft, sturdy, and easy to live with. It’s a 50/50 blend of Superwash British Bluefaced Leicester and South American Superwash Corriedale, and it’s 100% mulesing free.
It’s great for everyday knits you actually want to wear: soft enough for next-to-skin, but strong enough to hold up over time. The stitch definition is really clean too, so cables, texture, and even simple stockinette all look sharp.
Bluefaced Leicester brings that smooth, slightly silky feel, while Corriedale adds a bit of bounce and strength. The combo just works—it’s reliable, good-looking, and easy to knit with.

Purling Pigeon is our in-house hand-dyed yarn line, created by owner and artist Jasmine Clayton. We dye it, we knit with it, and we’re a little picky about what makes a good skein—so we stick to really beautiful bases and high-quality dyes that feel great to work with and hold up in real projects.
We work hard to keep our dye lots consistent and put a lot of care into every batch. That said, hand-dyed yarn can be a little unpredictable, and you might notice slight shifts in color from one batch to the next. It’s just part of the process—and part of what makes each skein feel special.
