Finch Superwash Merino Worsted is a beautiful, easygoing worsted weight yarn made from 100% Superwash Merino wool. It’s part of the same family as our other superwash merinos, spun from fine 21-micron fibers for that soft, next-to-skin feel without sacrificing structure.

This is a great all-around yarn—reliable, versatile, and easy to work with. The four-ply construction gives it strength and a balanced twist, with a nice round shape that shows off stitches clearly and takes color really evenly. It’s the kind of yarn that makes everything from simple knits to more detailed projects look clean and finished.

Composition: 100% Superwash Merino (21 micron)

Count: 4/8nm

Meterage: 200m (218 yds) per 100g

Tension: 16-20 sts per 10cm (4 in) over st st using 4.5-5.5mm (US size 7-9) needles

Yarn Weight: Worsted

Hank Size: 100g

Origin: Peru

Care Instructions: Machine washable on a wool programme ideally using a wool detergent at 30⁰C or below. Dry flat, do not sun dry or tumble dry. Avoid wringing and twisting.

Purling Pigeon is our in-house hand-dyed yarn line, created by owner and artist Jasmine Clayton. We dye it, we knit with it, and we’re a little picky about what makes a good skein—so we stick to really beautiful bases and high-quality dyes that feel great to work with and hold up in real projects.

We work hard to keep our dye lots consistent and put a lot of care into every batch. That said, hand-dyed yarn can be a little unpredictable, and you might notice slight shifts in color from one batch to the next. It’s just part of the process—and part of what makes each skein feel special.
