Our British wools come from farms that pay farmers fairly and care deeply for their sheep and the land. Most are small, family-run farms with around 350 sheep, living naturally outdoors on pasture. Each skein carries the British Wool crook logo, a guarantee that it’s 100% British. Farm Traceable British Wool DK is soft and airy, with a gentle bloom that appears as you knit. With a count of 30–31 microns, it’s strong yet kind to the hands—perfect for colourwork, textured stitches, and the cozy sweaters and mittens that become instant favorites.

Purling Pigeon is our in-house hand-dyed yarn line, created by owner and artist Jasmine Clayton. We dye it, we knit with it, and we’re a little picky about what makes a good skein—so we stick to really beautiful bases and high-quality dyes that feel great to work with and hold up in real projects.
We work hard to keep our dye lots consistent and put a lot of care into every batch. That said, hand-dyed yarn can be a little unpredictable, and you might notice slight shifts in color from one batch to the next. It’s just part of the process—and part of what makes each skein feel special.
